My microphone is not working?

First, I did view some answers but it none of the answers worked. Mostly due to different brand or they have Vista or Apple hehe. Here’s the deal, my microphone is not working, but I am able to hear out of it just fine, perfectly really. My headset is a USB VoIP Device ~at least that is what my computer has named it~. It is a USB cable instead of two plug-ins (1 for mic and 1 for headset). I have tried unplugging it and putting it in a different USB port to see if that works. Unfortunately no go for that. I did a test hardware to see where that would take me but all it said is: “We are unable to detect sound from your Microphone. Check to make sure it is correctly plugged it and retry. “If anyone can help me I would very much appreciate it. Thank you so much ^. ^

Need help, starting a new job!?

I am going to be working from home, and I need to purchase a USB- Voip/Chat headset. Where can I buy one for cheap. And is this going to be plugged into my computer or do I need a phone? Oh and it needs to be hands free

Ok i would be using earthcaller but i can’t download service pack 2 so yeah. Anyways I have been calling people on bueno. com right, on internet explorer of course because it only works on that, and I inputted a logitech usb microphone. When i call people they sound really good but they can’t hear me at all. It mumbles when i talk. So yeah can one of you please go on the website and check out the problem. I’m not sure if its the microphone’s fault or i just need internet explorer 7 like earthcaller. Thank you.

it was working fine until i unpluged it to move the pc, to another spot, when i booted up again it said found new harware, “c media usb headphone set, when i try to install the drivers automaticly it can find them, i downloaded a lot of drivers from cmedia and from realtek but no luck, the phone can receive calls and make calls on skype, but the mic is dead, now i know the mic is fine as it is also a normal phone and when used as such it works fine. also when i answer a skype call, it answers the call and keeps ringing until i answer the call again manualy from skype with the mouse, i have unistalled and reinstalled the software several times with no luck, emails to topcom and realtek have fallen on deaf ears as they have not even bothered to reply. i am using XP PRO SP2, PLEASE HELP

Im trying to find an inexpensive adapter to use for a cordless phone so I can make and receive calls from my Skype service. ( and yes I have a paid subscription) OR I am trying to find and inexpensive cordless phone compatible with Skype. VoiP internet telephone question?

Hello, I am looking to get rid of my current telephone company and I wanted to try an internet based telephone. There is only 1 problem I am faced with. Our broadband service people stopped the cable about 100 ft short of our house. We use an outdoor antenna that hooks up to our computer via USB and pick up the internet off our neighbors router. We don’t have a router or a modem, but we still have broadband. We have checked our internet speed and ic passes the test so it should be ok. I was looking at MagicJack and it says you have to keep your computer on for it to work which I really dont want to leave it on all day. I also looked at the TK6000 and I really like it, but it says you have to hook it up to a router or modem. So any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated

USB Skype phone for Vista?

Hi,I am looking for a Skype phone that works on Vista as well as the new version of Skype. I was looking at the Philips VOIP 080 phone, but I read that it does not work with Vista (unless you have some driver?) and has problems with the new version of Skype. Any recommendations? No sound on my HP Media Center Pavilion. Seems to be a common problem. How do I fix it?

Have been through HP driver downloads and trouble shooting screens. Have also done a restore. Speakers are in the monitor and I Have a MajicJack VOIP phone but nothing else special. The keyboard went bad and I ordered a new one from HP after Best Buy said that they didn’t have any. It seems that they are mapping sound devices to USB ports. No sound works on the system. Thanks Mr. T. Tried those things before. There must be something that is out of the range of normal.

How to (re)use ADSL WLAN router for Internet sharing using 3G/UMTS HSDPA (USB) Modem?

I have an old ADSL WLAN router (Allied Telesyn AT-ARW256E) which I used previously when I was using ADSL Internet Connection. However lately I shifted to 3G/HSDPA Mobile Broadband Internet, and connect my Win XP Desktop PC directly with a USB HSDPA Modem. I want to share this 3G Internet Connection from my Desktop with my Notebook and VoIP gateway using Windows ICS. Is there any way I can re-use my old ADSL WLAN router to share Internet, both via ethernet ports and WLAN? So far I can’t make it work, however when I use a LAN switch instead of ADSL WLAN router, I can share Internet. Please help me to tell how I can re-use my ADSL WLAN router as I want to access Internet on other devices not only using ethernet ports but also via WLAN. Thanks a lot !

Does Vodafone “Top up and Go” Mobile Broadband support p2p, VoIP and VPNs?

I’ve used 3 PAYG Mobile Broadband for about two years and found that it works perfectly with things like p2p and VoIP and for connecting over the internet to a VPN. Because the Vodafone network offers a better signal strength locally I’ve recently bought a “Top Up and Go” Vodafone K3565 USB Broadband modem although I haven’t tried it out yet. Is there anybody out there using Vodafone “Top Up and Go” Mobile Broadband for p2p, VoIP and connection to VPNs? More precisely, has anybody out there had any success using this kind of mobile broadband with a VoIP program like Skype, or a p2p client like ?Torrent, or connected remotely to a VPN over the public internet via their modem? Anybody know if these services will be available out of the box? Or will I need to configure the modem’s software in order to do these things?Information and advice would be appreciated. My USB devices are dying when connected to the Windows Vista PC?

I attached a USB laser mouse to my Windows Vista laptop and it almost immediately gave me the “Device is not recognized” Error. I don’t know why it happened and I didn’t look further into it ’cause I wasn’t in the mood to deal with Vista BS. Later, I plugged in my USB logitech headset only to find that it had the same problem. I use a VoIP phone most of the time so it’s kind of important. I went over to my XP system and the device doesn’t even power up any more. It seems it’s completely fried. Is there some note I didn’t get to not plug USB devices into the USB port with windows Vista? Does anyone have any experience with that? And do I now have to go buy a replacement for my 50$ headset?

Is it safe to cancel land line service after you get VoIP?

I’m thinking about buying a VoIP phone from Cisco, but it’s $300. I’ve got decent internet so i think voice should be just fine. So yeah, I’m thinking about canceling land line after i get that phone. Is this a good idea because I don’t want to pay for land line anymore because I don’t get a lot of calls. I also found this USB device that has a phone jack on the other end and the box says that I could use this as a phone jack over the internet for 20 bucks. Should I use that instead, but I’d have to leave my computer running 24/7. Since I’m sort of new to how VoIP phones work, can someone briefly describe the advantages vs disadvantages to having a VoIP device. I already know VoIP is Voice over IP but I’m not completely sure on whether or not should i invest on a device.

USB BlueTooth adapter performance: Are they all the same?

I recently purchased a cheap USB Bluetooth adapter and entry-level Bluetooth headset so I can send & receive VOIP calls from my Windows laptop. Setup was very simple and this setup definitely works, but every time I talk to somebody they complain of extremely poor audio quality on their end (like a bad cell phone connection). Audio quality on my end is not perfect, but it is more than acceptable. I’m thinking (although I have no way to verify this) that the signal strength from the USB adapter is poor, and could be the culprit. I say this because I get far less range with this adapter than I do with my other PC which has integrated BlueTooth (using the same BT headset). Are all these adapters basically the same (performance-wise)? Is there an adapter or adapter/headset combo that will give me high audio quality both on my end and the caller’s end? Anything that will rival the audio quality of a landline or good cell phone?Thanks in advance for your comments!John

usb jack on my dsl modem?

hey, wondering what the USB Jack on the back of my DSL Modem (I have a voip phone / dsl service) I have a dsl modem and then a gateway router my phone co. provided me with. Is the USB just another way I could hook into the “modem” slot of my router ? or could I use the USB slot if i wanted to get (which I do) a Wireless Router for another PC i may get working in the house. and if i can, what is the cable called? USB to LAN ?thanks. it doesnt look like a regular flat head usb it looks more like one of those heads on say the end of your digital camera. I am not using the dial up modem for internet connection, in fact it’s not even installed right now my only question is instead of buying a usb cord phone to talk on a voip client such as skype could i use the dial up modem and connect a normal phone?

My USB Mic suddenly not ?

My headphone and mic is connected thru USB. Now my mic is not working for yahoo messenger and VOIP calls,but I can record my voice in computer. Still headphone works. And I replaced my mic, but the same problem exists.

“Call ended cause you logged off”, but I didin’t touch even a button. But the problem is that I change my provider, earlier I could make any call in any destination, and now I can’t. I think it’s provider lock, I have a usb modem with a phone card in. An I asked theme if the modem supports voip calls and they answered that supports. But till now I cannot make calls. Whats the best way to record phone calls on a regular telephone line and get the best recording quality?

What is the best way to record phone calls on a regular telephone line(not a VOIP line) to get the best recording quality? I have an answering machine that records incoming calls but I cant turn it off and on, on demand. Do any of the new answering machines have “on-demand recording” and do they have a USB port to transfer all recordings to a computer? Or would best way to do it be just to use a voice recorder with a USB port?
